Olympus OM-4T, Zuiko 50 mm f/1.8,
Provia 100F. Tripod shot at dusk on the lava field. Ten feet (3 m) from the
molten lava. The lava I was standing on was only an hour or so old
but was cool enough that the rubber tripod tips did not melt or scorch.

Olympus OM-4T, Zuiko 24 mm f/2.8,
Fuji ISO 100 negative film. Twilight shot with tripod on top of my truck
topper Fortunately, no police officers came by to ask what I was doing
parked on the sidewalk.

Olympus OM-4T, Tamron 400 mm f/4
SP lens, 1/500 s. Provia 100F. Intentionally shot with a higher than
normal shutter speed to ensure some sharp airframe shots.

Olympus OM-2, Zuiko 300 mm f/4.5 lens,
1/1000 s. Kodachrome 64. Shot from halfway down the cliff above the
beach. Meanwhile a thief was trying to break into my rent car, with
the rest of my gear in the trunk. Lickily, someone drove up and ran
the thief off by honking the horn. Aways disable the remote trunk
release on rent cars - especially in Hawaii.

Olympus OM-2N, Sigma 400 mm f/5.6 lens,
Olympus 1.4X-A, Olympus 14 mm manual extension tube, Fuji ISO 400 negative film. The
Olympus 1.4X-A teleconverter will not fit the Sigma telephoto unless one
uses the extension tube to obtain clearance for the protruding
teleconverter element. The owlet was apparently successfully raised
by his very attentive parents.

Olympus OM-4T, Zuiko 180 mm f/2.8 lens,
25A filter, Kodak T400CN chromogenic film. Shot with a strong red filter
when I would have normally used a 15 (deep yellow), but I left the
15 at home.

returned to the refuge from a day of feeding.

Tachihara 4x5 field camera,
Rodenstock 210 mm f/5.6 Sironar-N lens, 15 filter, Kodak Professional
Tri-X, scanned by Epson 2450 Photo.
The contrast was reduced to a manageable level by the overcast
sky. The negative needed N+1 development and adjustment after
scanning.

Olympus OM-1, Zuiko 21 mm f/3.5 lens,
Fuji ISO 100 negative film. In happier times. Columbia, commanded
by Eileen Collins, returned to Earth on a hot August night in the light of
a full moon. I had five cameras set and got good exposures on two.

Olympus OM-4t, Zuiko 50 mm f/1.8 lens,
Sensia 100. The other image from that night. Looking south from
the banks of the Trinity River. About a 30 second exposure, lens aimed to
exclude the full moon to the southeast.

Olympus OM-4t, Sigma 70-210 mm f/2.8
APO lens, Kodak Gold 800 negative film. Available light (ballpark
lights), 210 mm at 1/125 (manual) and f/4. Using a monopod. I
was surprised by the accurate color rendition with this consumer film
stock.

shutter speed attempting to stop the blossom's dance in the wind.

Olympus OM-4t, Tamron SP 80-200 mm f/2.8
zoom lens, Provia 100F. Not quite a grab shot, as I waited for her eyes
to move away from me before swinging up, focusing, and shooting.
Wide open aperture.

Olympus OM-4t, Tamron SP 80-200 mm f/2.8
zoom lens, Provia 100F.
Wide open aperture, monopod. Spot metered on her face but I
didn't take time to open up one stop, so she is a little dark in the
original slide.

Olympus OM-4t, Zuiko 28 mm f/2.8 lens,
Provia 100F. The view looking back at the Irish mainland from above the
ghost town of Great Blasket Island. Braced on a monopod. The image
is cropped to a wide aspect ratio to eliminate extra and uninteresting
grassy foreground.
